Reflecting on February & Setting Goals for March!!

Hi guys! It's me, AiTommy✨️

My family and I went on a 3-day trip to Chiba last weekend. We spent the time doing absolutely nothing with cats(I mean, I did a little bit of writing this blog and other small stuff but other than that, I didn't do anything).

This small pension has 6 cats and they visit the travelers' room during the day and night.

Sooooooo cute!!
Sooooooo cute!!

I slept a lot, did sketching, and relaxed. It was a perfect holiday for us!

Now that I have come back from the trip, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on what I accomplished in February and share my goals for March!

Writing these things down helps me stay on track, and I hope it inspires you to think about your own creative journey too!

February Goals: What I Achieved

🎥 Livestreaming once a week on YouTube

I’m happy to say I achieved this goal! While I didn’t stream on the same day every week, I still went live consistently, sharing my illustration process with my community. I’ve started recognizing familiar names in chat, and I feel like these connections are growing deeper, which makes me really happy.

🟠 Sharing new content weekly (animations, shorts, and podcasts)

This one was a bit hit or miss, to be honest. I leaned more toward animation rather than animatics and I shared only two shorts and two normal YT videos in February. While that’s not necessarily a bad thing, I realized I needed to balance both types of content to maintain variety and keep engagement up. I’ll talk more about this later.

🗨 Posting on my community tab twice a week

I did share updates, especially when I started posting my comic, which successfully drove traffic to my website. As the story progresses, I hope even more people will check it out! But I’m thinking I should also share more personal updates or talk about my shop through the community tab.

📚 Creating more lessons and assets for my art course

I didn’t make as much progress here as I’d hoped. February was super busy, and I couldn’t add much new content to my course. But I did start a webinar on keyframe animation, which turned out to be a great learning experience for me as well. I’m excited to add more valuable lessons moving forward!

📖 Sharing Chapter 3 of my comic bi-weekly (starting February 7th)

I successfully shared all the pages, and I’m proud of that! The story is still in its early stages, but I hope that as it develops, more readers will get hooked and look forward to future chapters.

Using my time more efficiently and staying productive

I started the month strong, but after the play on February 22nd, I felt a bit burned out. I found myself zoning out a lot toward the end of the month — probably due to period fatigue. I usually avoid medication, but if this continues, I might consider trying supplements to help manage my energy levels.

My very first play! btw, I made this poster☺️

Big Wins in February

One of the biggest achievements this month was creating several animation videos using Live2D! I set a goal to deepen my understanding of the software, and despite the learning curve, it was incredibly fun. I’d love to create more with Live2D in March!

March Goals: A Month of Preparation

Unlike February, March feels like it’s going to be a preparation phase for bigger things ahead. I can’t reveal everything yet, but I have two major projects in the works, both scheduled for an April reveal.

My main focus will be quietly working behind the scenes, polishing these projects, even if I can’t share much online right away.

At the same time, I want to maintain my regular content flow:

  • Weekly YouTube livestreams & content sharing

  • Staying active in my community tab

But I also want to revisit something I’ve been neglecting — Instagram.

📸 Revisiting Instagram with Fresh Ideas

Honestly, after reaching my long-time goal of 100K followers, I felt lost.

Instagram’s algorithm has changed a lot, and follower count doesn’t automatically translate to reach anymore.

In the past, I only posted finished illustrations and videos, but now I’m thinking of experimenting with more personal, behind-the-scenes content, like:

  • WIPs and process videos

  • Photos of my shop and product showcases

  • Comic snippets and updates

  • Quick content like “sketch vs final” comparisons

Since I already share polished content on YouTube, Instagram might be a great place to show the raw, unfiltered side of my work.

March is a month of groundwork, but that doesn’t mean I won’t try new things. I want to challenge myself creatively, keep learning, and continue growing — all while sharing as much of the process as I can.

Thank you so much for supporting me on this artistic journey! It means the world to have you here, cheering me on.

Let’s keep creating together! 🎨✨

Love,
